Meet our instructors
Welcome to Seela Yoga, the sanctuary where strength meets serenity, founded by the passionate and inspiring Kirill. This is a place where each individual embarks on a transformational journey, guided by Kirill's expertise and enthusiasm for both the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the practice of Power Yoga.

From the vast expanses of Russia to the vibrant melting pot of the United States, Kirill's story is one of relentless pursuit for a life rich with purpose and fulfillment. At the tender age of 18, he ventured across the globe with the support of his brother, seeking new horizons and opportunities.

It wasn't long before Kirill discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, an encounter that would ignite a lifelong passion. Dedicating himself to the discipline, he mastered the intricate techniques and philosophies, earning a distinguished second-degree black belt. The mat became his second home, a place where he has been imparting his knowledge for over 15 years.

During his martial arts journey, a serendipitous introduction to Power Yoga by his friend Iron Mike opened a new chapter in Kirill's life. Captivated by the dynamic flow and the empowering nature of the practice, he embarked on a journey to deepen his understanding. Kirill achieved his 200-hour YTT certification from the renowned Baptist Power Yoga Institute, followed by a 100-hour Level 1 training with the esteemed Baron Baptiste himself.

With his extensive experience as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor, Kirill was able to seamlessly blend the worlds of martial arts and yoga, translating his skills into teaching Power Yoga with a unique and invigorating approach. His belief is unwavering: yoga is for everyone, with the power to transform lives through steadfast commitment, discipline, and regular practice.

Kirill's goals are as grounded as they are lofty; he is a beacon of knowledge, eager to illuminate the path for others as they pursue their personal aspirations, whether monumental or modest. His classes are a physical testament to adaptability, catering to all skill levels while challenging each participant to expand their boundaries of strength and flexibility.

Yet, it is not just the physical practice that sets Kirill and Seela Yoga apart. Here, a community flourishes — a collective of supportive, welcoming, and positive individuals, all united in their journey towards betterment. This is the heart of Seela Yoga, a place where connections are forged in the fires of shared practice and mutual encouragement.

Prepare to engage in a practice that is as much about inner strength as it is about physical prowess. Whether you are a seasoned yogi or a newcomer, expect to leave Kirill's sessions invigorated, stronger, and more flexible in both body and mind.

Moreover, Kirill extends his expertise with a special certification in prenatal yoga, offering tailored guidance to expectant mothers seeking to maintain wellness and connection with their changing bodies.

Julia brings a unique and dynamic approach to yoga, blending an extensive background in Break Dancing, Gymnastics, and Yoga with over 20 years of diverse athletic experience. Her journey began in the early 2000s during her college years in Brooklyn, NY, when she was captivated by the gymnastic capabilities of Break Dancers practicing on campus. She immersed herself in the NYC B-Girl Culture, gaining experience, supporting females in the community, and performing nationally in competitive events and shows.

After sustaining minor athletic injuries, overwhelming career stress, and starting a family, Julia redirected their focus toward yoga's active meditative and strengthening properties. Over time, she developed a personal practice that supports mental health while building strength and flexibility through challenging flow sequences paired with breathing meditation.

Having completed her YTT-200 teacher training in a heated environment with Stephanie Angelucci at the Adirondack Asana Academy, she hopes to share her love for active moving meditation with others. By leveraging yoga's dynamic practices with powerful transitions, she aspires to awaken, ignite, and nurture sustained health and mobility both on and off the mat.
